I've just been informed that on Friday we are to get a visit from Danger Nanny so no doubt that will be my weekend in ruins. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against health and safety just against people who waste my time for no good reason. I mean after surviving forty years on various farms and gardens what do they thing is going to befall me in the next ten? Im hardly like to suffer death by hoe.

Danger Nanny? That is a new one to me. Hysterical.
We have the fire inspectors come to our school once a year. Once some students were sitting on the stairs. The inspector told the hall monitor he could issue him a $200 fine, because the students were "fire hazards". Oh, they are hazardous to our health, for sure!
Good grief! The fact that you're still alive with all limbs intact is more than enough proof that you have health and safety nailed down to a fine art. If only we could rid the world of lawyers and insurance companies (my little utopian dream)we wouldn't have to suffer these intrustions that, in the end, have nothing whatsoever to do with our own wellbeing.

Who or What exactly is Danger Nanny? (Appears to be safety inspectors of some sort, but with such an excellent name I'm wondering if there's more...?)
