I figure it is to catch very slight precipitation and melting snow and frost. It is then concentrated in the 'vessel' for using as desired. I wouldn't want to drink it unless that was the only water around.

One the urn repair, I wonder if that stuff in the can would repair a broken cup. I have one of my mother's that got dropped.
How often do you walk? And if Vickie drops you off then she needs to come back and get you? At any rate, I enjoyed the walk pictures and description a lot. ..
