NOTES

You will notice that this blog has a different look about it tonight, I thought rather than keep updating two blogs I would try and incorporate the two here at 'Gardener To The Big House'. If it doesn't work I can always go back to writing the bogs seperately.

Today I took delivery of the new hedge cutter. Included with it was a length of cable, a blade guard and instruction booklet.
This is a professional trimmer with a powerful motor, no doubt Tommy will be adding it to his trusty tools list in due course when we've had time to trial it for you.

COMMENTS FROM THE POTTING SHED

Dick The traps I use to catch the moles kill them straight off so I don't have to worry about where to release them.

Basil Becky Thanks for the visit Becky, I'm glad you find my life interesting, it doesn't always feel that way to me.

Marmite We've had two dry days in a row now, I'm just waiting for someone to complain!

Becky Well Becky you can be sure its always a pleasure to see you and I'm pleased you enjoy reading what I write.

Ahhh, a smart mole.

Vicki wrote on my blog that your parents live on the Haddon estate. Lucky them to live amongst such beauty.

We have a hedge cutter like that and I love it. Except ours is gas...no cords!

I have a hedge cutter like that minus the guard.. I think my Hubby took the guard of, that was 5 years ago,and I have found it very light and easy to use in the past.. I say that because I had that hedge taken out. only trouble was keeping the cord out the way.

Sara Yes that is right, I grew up on the Haddon Estate, Haddon Hall being just over a mile away and on leaving school at 15 I started work on Chatsworth Estate as a gardener at Chatsworth House which is 3 miles from where my parents still live in the village of Rowsley.

Dirt Princess the cord is the one drawback with electric. I've never used a gas cutter so can't really compare one agaisnt the other.

Jeanette it won't be long now before you can enjoy that heat Jeanette then the boot will be on the other foot and we will be the ones shivering.
