Whitby

Here are some Views of Whitby taken last week during our visit there. We had a great time and as you can see the weather was very good so that made things even more enjoyable.
This is the harbour, its three pics joined together
which is why there is a colour variation.
If you click the picture it will become larger for better viewing.

Looking along the beack towards the pier.

A view across the harbour to the church, the old abbey is out of sight behind the church.

Bob - those pictures of Whitby are spectacular - you were lucky with the weather too. We sometimes drive over for the day as it is such a lovely place (particularly the fish and chipsat lunch time).

I know Whitby quite well. Did you visit the Fortunes kipper smoking shop up the hill towards the abbey?

Bob, it's been a while since I heard from her, but our dear blogging friend, Gwen, passed away yesterday. Jeanette has a very nice tribute to her on her blog this morning.

Lovely views of places from which we borrow names over here. I live in the city of Oshawa, but nearby, we also have Whitby and Pickering...

Those are beautiful photos, Bob! I enjoyed looking at them all but my favourite one is the view across the harbour.
